Great piece. I am also rather “new” to publishing on Medium. It was a sort of large leap to go from journaling, writing stories on scraps of paper, etc., to publishing here. So bravo and I look forward to reading more from you!

Also, I have a little addition to the countdown rule that has mostly to do with shopping.

1. Look at the item. No, REALLY look at it for a few seconds…
2. Ask, “Do I NEED this or do I WANT this?’
3. Ask yourself, “Is this something I will sell in a garage sale in 5 years?”
